Win festive brunches and afternoon teas: competition by The Ritz-Carlton DIFC
‘Tis the season to be jolly…and to dish out festive brunches and afternoon teas at The Ritz-Carlton DIFC. We’re running a competition to give away four prizes (each for two people) of the Christmas Day AND Friday brunches at Café Belge, as well as the hotel’s daily afternoon tea, holiday season included. So what can you expect?
Café Belge, the home grown Belgian restaurant in Dubai offers a ‘Grand’ buffet-style Friday brunch with 17 food stations high on quality ingredients – from caviar, oysters, ceviche and sashimi, to foie gras, mussels, roast rib-eye with Yorkshire pudding, and fish goujons with frites – culminating with a cheese spread and a dessert room. On the drinks side, expect a gin & tonic trolley and a Bloody Mary cart, whilst the free-flow Champagne of choice is Laurent Perrier. With both indoor and terrace seating, an excellent jazz band provides an entertaining side order of tunes. The Christmas Day brunch will also see the addition of dancers, a Santa visit, and lounge seating in the Sunken Garden.
Meanwhile, if a cuppa is more your cup of tea, then opt for afternoon tea in the hotel’s Lobby Lounge with an elegant tier of seasonally themed sweet and savoury delights. We’ll also throw in a glass of Laurent Perrier Champagne per person. Available daily between 2-6pm, festive season included.
We have FOUR generous prizes up for grabs for FooDiva readers across the UAE:
- Café Belge’s Friday or Christmas Day Grand Brunch inclusive of Laurent Perrier Champagne for two people – two vouchers each for two people. Each Friday brunch is priced at AED595 (on Christmas Day rises to AED740) including premium beverages and Champagne.
- Ritz-Carlton DIFC’s daily afternoon tea with a glass of Laurent Perrier Champagne in The Lobby Lounge for two people – two vouchers each for two people. AED280 per person.
The prizes are valid throughout the festive season and until 20th March 2018. Bookings must be made in advance.

The perfect afternoon tea comes with a glass of champagne, has delicate sandwiches and rich cakes. Mostly, it’s spent with someone special ??
Good company that is a foodie and a great service!
The highlights of afternoon tea is warmly baked scones with homemade jams and, of course, plenty of Devonshire clotted cream, a glass of champagne to accompany and a pot of English breakfast tea for afters!
I’m usually quite picky about where I brunch. The perfect brunch for me involves Friends/Family, (great) Food and Fun. It is a long drawn affair, a holistic experience that must be savoured, food-wise as well as for the ambiance and company. All elements must be carefully selected to complement each other!
Big comfortable chairs, live instrumental music playing softly in the background, attentive but discreet staff, an extensive tea selection, tasty sandwiches, sweet treats and good company.
Spending the perfect evening with someone special, needs special place with high standards, in food, service and surroundings ( this only means ritz Carlton:)

Whether brunch or afternoon tea, its all about the food! Quality ingredients prepared with care, attention and love.can make or break an experience..
An Afternoon Tea can never be complete without a tempting variety of Cakes, Macaroons, Sandwiches, hot piping Scones with clotted cream with choice of fruit preserves & a cup of Afternoon Tea to top it.
Fine dining, finer company at the finest hotel all sprinkled with a dash of Christmas cheer ????
A perfect brunch includes Leisurely dining, ambiance and rich displays of culinary choices which are perfect brunches. Brunches that usually feature more breakfast dishes than lunch choices, but extensive buffets should include large roasts, smoked fish, soups and salads. Ethnic brunches have become popular venues where guests can try new dishes and enjoy music from different cultures or international arts and crafts
For me the definition of a perfect afternoon tea is an inevitable ingredient as it freshens up your spirit and gives the strength. The aroma of the tea soothes you and revitalises your inner strength. A brunch is one that energises you and compensates for your skipped breakfast. It comprehends your breakfast and lunch and gives you the entire potential for the rest of the day.
An afternoon with beloved one, savoring an array of exquisite flavors of finest brunch in town, while immersing ourselves into festive atmosphere, where even Scrooge gets into holiday spirit
A perfect brunch is one where there is a themed layout with proper silverware and chinaware. Food and different items need to be perfectly placed in order and look appetizing. The menu should have a variety of options. All the main utensils need to be available for a perfect brunch…

I love Sitting outdoors with friends accompanied with relaxed conversations, sipping the perfect cup of tea and nibbling on heavenly cucumber sandwiches, warm scones, rich n crumbly cakes and being pampered by wonderful staff! Thats a perfect setting for afternoon tea for me.
For a perfect brunch or afternoon tea, I love to share good quality food and beverages over great conversation with family or dear friends.
A perfect brunch would be great vibe and ambiance, enjoying the converataion with family and friends. Great variety and selection of quality food that makes your tummy smile and finally drinks that are made delicious or flowing bubbly.
Perfect brunch is the time spend with the special someone or family with a glass of wine and delicious food With a lovely virw
A perfect brunch for me is with good friends, delicious food and an amazing atmosphere. A few cocktails wouldn’t hurt either?
Perfect afternoon tea is family and friends + a wide array of good food.
Delicious food, great ambience and company of loved ones.
Brunch requires a roast, with Yorkshire pudding.
A perfect brunch will have fine food with fun friends. Fabulous!
A perfect brunch should have a perfect selection of menu right from the starters to the deserts and a balance between veg and non-veg dishes.I generally prefer family brunches where all family members including kids enjoy the array of dishes and the glasses and dishes are filled with selection of favourite drinks and food…Savouring over live cooking stations is yet another charm of a great brunch. From the most elegant assortments of cuisine to signature dishes, every bite should make it a memorable brunch experience ..Desserts are my favourite part of the brunch and a combination of international as well as Indian sweets makes it the best for a person with big sweet tooth like me..live entertainment like musical programme or a magician for kids is a cherry icing on the cake…
Brunch should stimulate and tease even before it reaches your plate. The aromatics should be subtle yet discernible enough to coax your nostrils towards the platter of grapefruit or poached eggs as it walks down the aisle, making you weak at the knees with the aroma of coffee or hollandaise run in a secret marinade that morphs into patches of exquisite delight. Wholly elevated by the luxurious bouquet of choices and wholly enslaved by the arresting bouquet of confusion regarding what to order, whip up or swirl around your mouth.
Brunch or afternoon tea should have a smorgasbord of treats to tickle the tastebuds.
Great food and good company 🙂
Tea time reminds me of high teas at my grandmothers’ house – a veritable feast of delicate bites – cucumber sandwiches, cakes jostling for attention against our Indian versions of snacks followed by a perfectly brewed cup of Darjeeling Tea.
The perfect afternoon tea for me has to respect certain classics, I absolutely am all for innovation but if you’re messing around with those scones or egg sandwiches then you’re in trouble. I also think there are little small touches, such as Rodda’s clotted cream for example that really make it feel like a proper afternoon tea experience. Also, while it sounds silly……TEA should also be of a excellent quality…..it’s not all about the bubbly
Brunch or afternoon tea, its all about the food! Quality ingredients prepared with care and attention will make or break an experience.
When we share food…we share a part of ourselves with others; therefore a group brunch or afternoon tea is never just about the food for me…it’s the entire vibe, the bonding, the sharing, the love and warmth, the laughter, the wiping of glassy eyes….food connects at different levels…without having to say a word just like music. For me good food is not just satisfying the body but the soul too
