M’s at Emirates Golf Club; new name, look and menu
Dubai; FooDiva loves a good refurb, and as Dubai’s Emirates Golf Club has transformed its F&B (food and beverage) outlets, here’s my review of the new all-day dining restaurant, now called M’s. M for marrying Mediterranean with Middle Eastern flavours.
And it really is a transformation from old-school fuddy duddy to a clean, minimalist space with plenty of light as you gaze onto the golf course, plus an open-plan kitchen. Lime green and chocolate brown are one of FooDiva’s fave colour combinations, and clearly M’s as well.
The lunchtime special caught FooDiva’s eye. For AED 62, choose your own soup and salads from the buffet, a dessert from the menu and a soft bevvie. Or if you just fancy salad, it’s AED 54. And note, not just a summer deal, but one inscribed on the menu.
Two selections of soup; cream of broccoli and hot and sour. Clearly not Med or Middle Eastern influenced, but my broccoli soup was tasty enough. I would have liked the odd chunk of broccoli to remind me it was indeed home-made. The warm Greek-style pitta bread helped soak it up.
Salads were most definitely country inspired, with the usual Arabian suspects, and Mediterranean antipasti; ingredients all crunchily fresh and served in small stoneware pots. I even managed to sneak a bowlful of rice, lentil and crispy onion salad to our table; a healthier version of the traditional Egyptian koshari dish. Dishes were very veggie-heavy or light I should say; would have been good to see a little injecton of creativity with some meat and fish thrown into the salad mix.
With seven desserts on the menu, our trio opted for a chilled red berry gazpacho with mascarpone ice cream, a whole pear encrusted in a konafa casing with chocolate sauce and vanilla ice cream, and a lemon sorbet. Impressive options considering the very affordable set menu.
Service whilst smiley was confusing; the waiters repeating the same questions and not comprehending our order. It took forever to grab their attention for the bill. With only a handful of tables occupied, the restaurant was practically empty for a Thursday lunchtime (don’t the big shot golfers take the afternoon off anymore?)
Whilst the location is a tad off-beat for non-avid golfers, M’s is worth a little detour not just for the lunch menu, but to try out the extensive a la carte. The hanging kebab skewers would be top of my list. As would a night at the golf club’s Le Classique, one of Dubai’s original French restaurants.

Nice review! I´ve only eaten at Emirates golf Club twice, both times weddings and wasn´t impressed….I´ll give the a la carte a try 😉
I reviewed this too, and we had our 10th Wedding Anniversary do at M’s as well, great venue 🙂
It’s a hidden gem – I must return!
I wonder if it is open during Ramadan?
It should be as it’s in a licensed club…
