And the #RestaurantBuzzAwards winners are…
A dining experience is so subjective that whilst I have strong opinions on Dubai’s restaurant scene, it’s important to allow you to voice what you feel are best-in-class restaurants. Hence the rationale behind Dubai’s first social dining awards, the 2015 #RestaurantBuzzAwards that FooDiva organised with RoundMenu (and the support of Commercial Bank of Dubai). Eating out is such a social activity that we themed the categories around occasions, and with voting only via social media.
You voted for 1,400 different restaurants in Dubai, from top-end dining to cheap and cheerful eats, with 12,000+ users visiting the voting site over the five-week awards period.
So voila, according to you, the best buzzing restaurants in Dubai across eight categories are…
- Fine, fun dining: Zuma
- Celebrate in style meal: Reflets par Pierre Gagnaire
- Love is in the air dining: Pierchic
- Serious business dining: Mint Leaf of London
- Family sharing meal: Merletto
- Casual, cheerful catch-up: Belgian Beer Café, Crowne Plaza Dubai Festival City
- Quick, healthy pit-stop: Kcal
- Hidden gems: Marta’s Kitchen
The winners were revealed at a Dubai Food Festival event at the Beach Canteen on Kite Beach last night hosted by well-known comedian Ali Al Sayed – with food served by Moti Roti.
Given how much I believe in transparency, it wouldn’t be fair if I did not share who I voted for 😉
So did you vote? Do you agree or disagree with the winning restaurants? Or my votes for that matter ;).
Any feedback to help us fine tune the awards for next year is very welcome…and perhaps we’ll also extend to Abu Dhabi.
A bientôt.

A lot of deserving winners, only surprised about Kcal, while the concept is good, the taste just doesn’t live up, in my opinion. Very few menu items worth ordering.
I must admit I have never tried Kcal so can’t really comment on that win Sadia.
I have to agree with you on Qbara, really love that place!
Is there a place where I can find the names of all the nominees?
My all-time favourite restaurant in Dubai Louise 🙂 There were no nominees – the public could vote for any restaurant in Dubai!
