A guide to licensed Dubai restaurants delivering

#UAERestaurantsUnite - FooDiva

For the first time in Dubai with the COVID-19 crisis in full swing, high-end licensed restaurants are adapting their business models and pivoting to delivery. Some of these announcements are shared on FooDiva’s Instagram and Facebook stories –  or can be discovered with the #UAERestaurantsUnite hashtag campaign, which is one month old today! I have also compiled the following guide, which will be updated regularly, as new licensed restaurants come on board.

A few points to keep in mind:

  1. The word ‘licensed’ in this part of the world is used to describe outlets permitted to serve booze in their premises.
  2. The respective delivery call to action is included in the guide. Where possible, please try and order direct, otherwise the restaurant is forced to pay a hefty up to 35% commission to food delivery apps, which means the majority of these outlets end up operating at a loss. By doing so, you will make a difference to whether this restaurant and its staff survive the crisis – or not.
  3. The guide is divided into districts as deliveries are typically limited to the restaurants’ neighbourhoods. Sadly food of this nature does not travel well on bikes across the other side of town. However, do check with the restaurant/ website first as there are some exceptions.
  4. I would have loved to run a guide on all restaurants operating deliveries, but with these numbers running into the thousands, it’s impossible to collate into one listing.

Another first is booze delivery in Dubai – a legal service by MMI and A&E. Through this website you won’t go dry 😉

So voila. If you’re looking for restaurant quality food in the comfort of your home, here is a round-up of 47 licensed restaurants that are delivering in Dubai – a mix of posh and casual. Any more I have missed?
